Detection of Violations During Inspection

The company engaged in agricultural production was exporting soybeans based on a signed contract and relevant documents. However, during the analysis of the submitted data, customs officials had doubts about their authenticity, which led to an additional inspection of the cargo.

Weighing the wagons containing the soybeans revealed significant discrepancies between the actual weight and the figures stated in the customs declaration. It turned out that the net weight of the goods exceeded the declared amount by 181.7 tons.

Legal Consequences and Potential Losses

As a result of the inspection, customs officials drew up a report under part 1 of Article 483 of the Customs Code of Ukraine regarding the violation of customs regulations. The value of the soybeans that were attempted to be exported in violation of the law is estimated at approximately 2.4 million hryvnias.

“Weighing the wagons with soybeans helped establish discrepancies in the weight of the declared goods – the actual weight was 181.7 tons more than stated in the customs declaration.”
