Farmers in Cherkasy have harvested over 2.5 million tons of grain crops
The harvesting campaign in Cherkasy is nearing completion, showing significant results for the region. According to the Department of Agricultural Development of the Cherkasy Regional State Administration, the gross harvest of grain and leguminous crops has already exceeded 2.5 million tons, with an average yield of 59 quintals per hectare.

Completion of the harvest and current yield situation
The region has fully completed the harvesting of early grains, cereal crops, and rapeseed. Currently, farmers are actively harvesting corn: 88% of the total sown area has been threshed. There is also a positive trend regarding soybeans, with a yield reaching 18.6 quintals per hectare. Additionally, more than half of the sugar beet area has already been harvested, with an average yield of 406 quintals per hectare.
Sowing campaign for next year’s harvest
Alongside the completion of the harvest, the sowing campaign for winter crops for the 2026 harvest is ongoing in Cherkasy. As of today, farmers have already sown:
- 187.9 thousand hectares of winter wheat (93.9% of the planned area),
- 32.1 thousand hectares of rapeseed (98.8%),
- and are also completing the sowing of barley and rye.

Despite the challenges posed by weather conditions and martial law, the region maintains a high level of organization in agricultural work and confirms its status as one of the leaders in agricultural production in Ukraine.
