Retail Fuel Prices Decrease in Ukraine: Support for Farmers in Spring
In April, a trend of decreasing retail prices was observed in the Ukrainian oil products market. According to monitoring results, as of April 9, the average price of major types of fuel at gas stations showed a significant decline. This is particularly relevant for the agricultural sector, which is in the midst of spring fieldwork, and the consumption of diesel fuel traditionally increases during this period.

Price Decrease and Government Support for the Agricultural Sector
Fuel industry experts note that the stabilization and adjustment of prices in the domestic market have become possible due to the effective adaptation of logistics chains and the implementation of government support programs for consumers.
Diesel fuel, which is the main fuel for agricultural machinery, has seen the most noticeable price drop: the average price decreased by 0.17 UAH/l and now stands at 90.34 UAH/l. Similar changes have been recorded in the segment of high-octane gasoline (A-95 and A-95+).
An important tool for reducing farmers’ fuel costs remains the government cashback program, which is designed to provide financial support during the planting campaign.
Details of the Fuel Program for Farmers in April
- Diesel Fuel: 15% cashback on the cost, significantly reducing the cost of fieldwork.
- Gasoline: program participants receive a 10% cashback.
- Autogas: a 5% compensation is credited based on the amount spent while refueling at partner networks.
- Duration: the program is active throughout April and provides support for agricultural logistics during this critical season.
“Market experts predict that the combination of direct price reductions at gas stations and the operation of the cashback mechanism will allow agricultural enterprises to optimize fuel costs until the end of the spring work cycle”.
