Who Can Receive the Supplement in the Armed Forces
The additional cash payment is designated for the defenders of Ukraine who have been awarded the state honor “Cross of Combat Merit.” This award is established by a presidential decree and is granted:
- for personal outstanding bravery and courage or a heroic act while performing combat missions;
- for significant achievements in military command during combat operations.
The amount of the monthly payment depends on the recipient’s status:
- Servicemen awarded the “Cross of Combat Merit” will receive 1.5 times the minimum wage set as of January 1 of the current year. In 2026, this amounts to 12,970 hryvnias (1.5 × 8,647 UAH).
- Family members of deceased or fallen military personnel who were awarded this honor can expect to receive 1 minimum wage, which is 8,647 hryvnias.
How to Apply for and Receive the Payment
To receive the specified monthly cash assistance, individuals awarded the “Cross of Combat Merit” must independently apply for its processing. For this, it is necessary to submit an application and provide the relevant military documents.
Documents can be submitted:
- in person at any service center of the Pension Fund of Ukraine, regardless of the place of registration;
- remotely through the electronic services portal of the Pension Fund of Ukraine.
“Monthly cash assistance is granted regardless of whether the citizen is registered with the Pension Fund as a pension or monthly lifetime maintenance recipient.”
Thus, all military personnel and their family members who have the appropriate distinction can claim the additional monthly payment, regardless of other social benefits.
