United Kingdom, Netherlands, and Germany: Key Steps in Support

  • United Kingdom will soon launch the serial production of interceptor drones developed in Ukraine under Project OCTOPUS. The enterprises plan to manufacture about 2,000 drones per month to counter Russian strike UAVs of the “Shahed” type. Simultaneously, Kyiv and London are considering joint projects, including the production of guided bombs. In light of the increasing threat from Russia, the United Kingdom has expedited the transfer of hundreds of LMM missiles to Ukraine for enhancing air defense, five months ahead of schedule. The total amount of military support from the UK in 2025 will reach £4.5 billion. The two countries have also agreed to establish a special working group to coordinate joint technological projects within the LYRA program.
  • Netherlands has transferred a mine countermeasure vessel of the Alkmaar type to Ukraine and plans to transfer another similar vessel soon. Additionally, the Netherlands has allocated €200 million to strengthen Ukraine’s anti-drone capabilities. The countries will also implement joint production of drones. The total amount of assistance from the Netherlands has already reached $9 billion since the beginning of the full-scale invasion.
  • Germany and Ukraine have signed an agreement for Berlin to finance the digital transformation of the Ukrainian Armed Forces for the period of 2026–2028. Furthermore, Rheinmetall will supply Kyiv with additional Skyranger 35 air defense systems, purchased with profits from frozen Russian assets.

Cooperation with European Companies and NATO

The European defense technology company Tekever plans to involve Ukrainian startups in the joint development of unmanned aerial vehicles. At the same time, NATO officials visited Ukraine to discuss prospects for deepening cooperation in the defense industrial sector.

Ukraine’s allies continue to provide comprehensive military support, investing funds in joint production and launching new initiatives and collaborative projects.
