AMCU Investigates Competition Violations During Egg Price Increases
The Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine began reviewing the case concerning the group of companies “Avangard” and Ovostar Union at the end of May, regarding signs of anti-competitive actions in the formation of prices for chicken eggs.

Suspicions of Price Inflation in the Egg Market
The mentioned companies are leading producers of shell eggs and have a significant influence on price formation in the respective market. The Committee has undertaken to examine the justification for the increase in egg prices that occurred in October 2024.
In April 2025, the regulator provided mandatory recommendations for consideration to the ten largest producers and distributors of eggs, aimed at preventing violations of the legislation on the protection of economic competition.
Results of Production Performance Analysis
During the market study, the Antimonopoly Committee conducted a detailed analysis of the economic activities of the main producers. As a result of this analysis, signs of violations of antimonopoly legislation regarding competition were identified.
