Restrictions for Other Crops
The government initiative does not apply to other important crops such as soybeans, corn, sunflowers, sorghum, and their processed products. Luis Caputo clearly emphasized that no additional tax incentives are provided for these items.
Position of Farmers and Exporters
“Farmers and export companies insisted on the continuation of this benefit; however, Caputo noted that it will not extend to soybeans, corn, sunflowers, sorghum, or their derivative products.”
Despite numerous appeals from farmers and exporters to expand tax benefits to other crops, the Argentine government has limited preferences solely to wheat and barley. This approach aims to support the export of these two strategic crops and stabilize the situation in the domestic market.
