Increase in State Support for the Agricultural Sector
The state budget of Ukraine for 2026 provides for a significant increase in funding for the agricultural sector. Expenditures for agricultural support will increase by 4.5 billion UAH compared to 2025, reaching 14.1 billion UAH. The funds will be directed towards demining programs, risk insurance, irrigation development, grants and subsidies, accessible loans, as well as support for farmers in frontline areas.
“In 2024 and the first half of 2025, over ₴5.2 billion was allocated to support farmers. Only about 33% of farmers from the potential number were able to apply for assistance.”
At the same time, according to the Accounts Chamber, due to inconsistencies in budget programs, a significant portion of state aid has been received by large agroholdings. In particular, last year, 49 recipients belonging to 31 corporate groups received 16% of the state funds allocated to support agricultural producers.
