Controlled Export of Ukrainian Weapons Will Reduce Production Costs and Bring Up to $1 Billion in Taxes Annually
According to a study by the Ukrainian Arms Manufacturers Council, the majority—94.4%—of Ukrainian weapons manufacturers support the opening of exports. Domestic producers are ready for international cooperation and the implementation of the highest standards in the defense product sector.

A New Stage of Controlled Export of Ukrainian Weapons
The International Defense Industries Forum (DFNC3) held in Kyiv marked an important milestone for the domestic defense sector. The event effectively initiated a new phase in the development of controlled exports of Ukrainian weapons. This approach will not only maintain current production rates but also significantly reduce the production costs of serial samples. At the same time, it will create conditions for increasing the supply of weapons to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Support from International Partners and Economic Impact
The UK Ministry of Defence has expressed its readiness to support the controlled export of Ukrainian weapons. According to British officials, this step will strengthen the Ukrainian defense industry and contribute to the enhancement of NATO.
The head of the Ukrainian Arms Manufacturers Council, Ihor Fedirko, emphasizes the significant potential of the industry. According to his estimates, arms exports worth $3-5 billion could provide the state budget with approximately $300-500 million in tax revenues annually. If export volumes increase to $8-12 billion, budget revenues could reach $0.7-1 billion per year.
“The exact volume of tax revenues depends on the structure of contracts, the level of localization, the conditions of service maintenance, and the effectiveness of export control procedures,” noted Ihor Fedirko.
The opening of controlled exports creates prerequisites for the stable development of the defense industry, increasing production capacities, and further strengthening Ukraine’s position in the international arms market.
