Gas Tariff in Ukraine Will Remain Unchanged from April 1, 2025

In Ukraine, gas tariffs will remain stable for most consumers starting April 1, 2025. Consumers of the Gas Supply Company “Naftogaz of Ukraine,” which serves 98% of households, will pay 7.96 UAH per cubic meter of gas under the annual fixed price.

According to information, there are currently 9 suppliers in the gas market. Of these, 4 companies offer both an annual fixed price and a monthly variable price, while 5 suppliers specialize exclusively in annual tariffs. The cost of a cubic meter of gas for the population within the annual tariffs ranges from 7.79 to 9.99 UAH, depending on the chosen gas supply company.
Prospects for Gas Tariffs
According to reports from the government, gas tariffs for the population will not change in 2025. The current law does not allow for tariff reviews. “Even if martial law ends in the coming months, the law prohibits any tariff increase for another six months. There will be no increase this year. Unless international partners exert significant pressure, which is unlikely,” noted one government official.
Thus, “Naftogaz” will continue to sell blue fuel at a fixed price of 7.96 UAH per cubic meter. To change the tariff before the end of martial law, amendments to the legislation will be required, which will necessitate a decision by parliament and the president’s signature. Passing such an unpopular decision through the Verkhovna Rada will be extremely challenging.
Although “Naftogaz” is the main supplier of blue fuel, serving about 98% of residential consumers, even after the moratorium on tariff increases ends, it remains uncertain whether there will be economic grounds for raising prices. This will depend on a number of factors, including consumption and gas production volumes.
