The procedure for forming the Supervisory Board of Naftogaz is nearing completion
In November, the Cabinet of Ministers announced a competition for the positions of members of the Supervisory Board of Naftogaz after a decision was made to conduct an audit of state enterprises. This was a response to the exposure of a large-scale corruption scheme in the energy sector uncovered by anti-corruption agencies.
According to Yulia Svyrydenko, interviews with candidates for the Supervisory Board have already been completed, and the nomination committee will soon determine the candidates for submission to the government.
“We expect the formation of the Supervisory Board of Naftogaz next week,” said Yulia Svyrydenko.
Changes in the leadership of Energoatom and audit of state companies
The Prime Minister also emphasized the importance of promptly appointing a head for Energoatom. She reported that a state audit is ongoing, and its interim results have already been submitted to the company’s supervisory board. Additionally, Svyrydenko noted the possibility of involving an international auditor in the verification process.
At the end of January, the government approved a new composition of the supervisory board of Energoatom, and the independent members have already signed contracts. The first meeting of the updated supervisory board is scheduled for next week.
Overall, an audit of 12 state energy companies is currently underway, the Prime Minister reported.
