Government reduces sugar export quota to the EU from 107 to 11 thousand tons

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has significantly changed the volumes of export quotas to the European Union for sugar and poultry meat. The relevant changes were approved by government resolution No. 664 dated June 6, which amended resolution No. 1481 dated December 24, 2024.

New export quotas for products

The most significant changes affected the export quota for sugar, which has been reduced nearly tenfold – from 107.2 thousand tons to 11 thousand tons. Licensing for sugar exports will be in effect until August 5, 2025.

Changes have also been made to the quotas for poultry meat exports:

  • For meat and edible by-products of domestic birds (chickens, ducks, geese, guinea fowl) – a reduction from 55.3 to 51 thousand tons
  • For turkey meat and edible by-products – a reduction from 1.5 to 1.4 thousand tons

Details of poultry meat quota distribution

Licensing for meat exports will continue until the end of 2025. A phased distribution of quotas has been established:

Poultry meat and edible by-products of domestic birds: chickens, ducks, geese, guinea fowl, as well as turkey meat and edible by-products of turkeys will be distributed for the period until September 30, 2025, in the amount of 30 thousand tons, and for the period from October 1, 2025, to December 31, 2025, in the amount of 22.5 thousand tons.
