A new grant program has launched in the State Agrarian Register, allowing agricultural enterprises to receive funding of up to $150,000 for the development of aggregation models in the fields of berry and vegetable farming. This initiative is implemented by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) with the support of the European Union in collaboration with the Ministry of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture of Ukraine.

Who Can Apply for Grants and What Are the Participation Conditions

Agricultural producers from Volyn, Transcarpathia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv, Ternopil, Khmelnytskyi, and Chernivtsi regions are invited to participate. The program is aimed at enterprises that seek to create aggregation models, unite small farmers around shared infrastructure, expand processing, and access new markets. This format of cooperation promotes increased volumes and quality of production, meets modern market standards, and opens new pathways for the development of farms.

The main requirement for applicants is the readiness to integrate small producers into their business processes. In particular, this can be achieved through the establishment of transparent agreements for the purchase of products, providing shared access to infrastructure, and organizing training events for farmers. Priority will be given to projects that implement environmentally responsible technologies and innovative solutions to enhance the efficiency of the agri-food sector.

Application Deadlines and Funding Conditions

Applications for participation in the grant program can be submitted through the State Agrarian Register until April 17, 2026. An important condition for receiving the grant is the enterprise’s own investment contribution — from 30% to 60% of the project cost, depending on the chosen aggregator category.

“The goal of the new grant program is to strengthen cooperation between small and medium-sized agricultural enterprises, develop post-harvest processing and product processing infrastructure, and improve farmers’ access to domestic and international markets.”

In addition to financial support, program participants will receive expert consultations from FAO, training, and recommendations for developing sustainable business models, as well as assistance in integrating small producers into value-added chains.

In the previous cycle of the grant program, which started in 2025, berry and vegetable aggregators in Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Transcarpathia, and Chernivtsi regions received funding totaling over 33 million hryvnias. With these funds, they purchased modern refrigeration units for storage, equipment for processing berries and vegetables, sorting complexes, X-ray control systems, solar power stations, and transport equipment.
