This was announced by the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal, during a Cabinet meeting on March 21. He noted that “we are currently prioritizing the de-mining of agricultural land. We understand how important this is in the context of the new planting season. We already have more than 80 certified demining operators and over 200 demining machines.”
The Prime Minister also emphasized that, according to the World Bank’s assessment, approximately 30 billion dollars are needed for the complete de-mining of Ukraine’s territory. Denys Shmyhal highlighted the importance of financial and technical support from international partners, which will significantly contribute to accelerating the process of clearing territories of mines. He stressed that with this assistance, Ukraine will be able to de-mine its territories “in years, not decades.”
