The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine is discussing several options for supporting farmers from frontline areas in connection with the cancellation of the 30% discount on grain transportation. This issue became central at the meeting of the Coordination Council on Logistics in Agriculture.

Agrarian Policy Minister Vitaliy Koval reported that efforts are currently underway to find resources to cover transportation costs. Among the topics discussed was also the tariffing of agricultural product transportation from ports.

“As options, we are considering tariff indexing, creating a unified tariff, or splitting the total amount into two payments: one for infrastructure wear and another for mileage. We agreed to form a working group with representatives from the relevant agencies to develop a roadmap for farmers in frontline areas as well as for all other regions,” the minister noted.

It is worth noting that starting March 20, 2025, the 30% discount on railway transportation of agricultural products, which was in effect for stations located in combat zones or occupied regions, will be canceled.

Furthermore, the further development of the grain and oilseed market in Ukraine and the Black Sea region will be discussed at the 23rd International Conference, which will take place on April 24 in Kyiv. This event will serve as an important platform for strategic discussions and networking with leaders in the agricultural sector.
