Main Drivers of Economic Growth

According to Oleksiy Sobolev, in August 2025, Ukraine’s GDP growth reached approximately 5.3% compared to the same month last year. The main drivers of this process were construction, manufacturing, and the agricultural sector. The ministry expects that positive dynamics will continue in the second half of the year.

“For September-October, GDP growth in Ukraine is expected to be at the level of 3-4%,” emphasized Minister of Economy Oleksiy Sobolev.

Role of Investments and International Forecasts

An important factor for further economic growth will be the implementation of international investment agreements. The ministry estimates that about 200 million USD will be directed towards the implementation of various projects in the country, which will support further GDP growth.

Additionally, the ministry predicts that in 2026, Ukraine’s economy will grow by 2.5%. However, international organizations have different assessments: the World Bank has lowered its GDP growth forecast for Ukraine to 2% (previously expected 5.2%), while the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development has kept its forecast for 2026 unchanged at 5%, provided that the war between Russia and Ukraine concludes.
