Price Stability in Grain: What is Happening in the Agricultural Market

The price situation in the agricultural market continues to be complex, however, some categories of products are showing positive trends.

Denis Marchuk, Deputy Head of the All-Ukrainian Agricultural Council, reported during a briefing at “Ukrinform” that after a prolonged period of declining prices for grains and oilseeds, a certain stabilization is now being observed. Currently, the price of wheat fluctuates between $160-180/ton, depending on quality and region.

“Compared to the autumn, prices have somewhat leveled out, although they remain below the expected level. This is related to the overall situation in the global market, as well as the impact of logistical challenges,” Marchuk noted.

As for corn, which is one of the main export crops, it is currently trading in the range of $150-165/ton. Marchuk explained that global quotations influence the domestic market, however, Ukrainian corn is gradually regaining its positions thanks to active exports through the Danube ports.

He specifically emphasized the increase in the cost of essential resources for farmers, such as fuel and lubricants, fertilizers, and plant protection products, which creates additional pressure on producers.
