The rise in fuel prices at gas stations in Ukraine currently has no significant impact on the final cost of agricultural products. This conclusion was made by the First Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture Taras Vysotsky in his comment for the TV channel “Suspilne.”

Fuel’s Share in Production Costs and the Consequences of Price Fluctuations

According to Taras Vysotsky, fuel costs account for 10–15% of the structure of agricultural production costs. Even the spike in fuel prices observed over the past week will only affect the overall cost of agricultural products by 1–2%. The official emphasized that such changes are not critical for the pricing of agricultural products.

“As of today, we cannot say that this will critically affect the final cost of agricultural products. The government is taking all necessary measures to stabilize the situation, and we see no reason for panic. All farmers are conducting their planting according to schedule,” Vysotsky stated.

Fuel Reserves and Preparation for Planting

Vysotsky also noted that most Ukrainian farmers traditionally create reserves of fuel and other necessary materials for several weeks or even months in advance. This allows them to start and carry out fieldwork according to established schedules without being affected by temporary fluctuations in fuel prices.

In conclusion, representatives of the relevant ministry assure that farmers are equipped with the necessary resources, and the situation in the fuel market poses no risks for the timely conduct of the planting campaign and the production of agricultural products in 2026.
