According to the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, Koval emphasized that both countries share common strategic goals — achieving victory in the war, developing good neighborly relations, and fostering economic growth. He noted that effective cooperation between Ukrainian agricultural producers and the EU is a significant step towards achieving these goals.
“Poland can become a leader in ensuring the continuity and predictability of trade conditions between Ukraine and the EU after the expiration of the Autonomous Trade Preferences,” Koval said.
The meeting also addressed the adaptation of Ukrainian agricultural legislation to European standards. Polish partners shared their experience in implementing technical regulations, which will facilitate the harmonization of Ukrainian norms and make this process beneficial for all market participants.
Furthermore, an important aspect of the negotiations was the discussion of market expansion and joint innovations. Koval highlighted that mutual exchange of experience and the implementation of modern technologies will strengthen the agricultural sector of both countries, enhancing its competitiveness.
The Polish market demonstrates significant demand for organic products, protein feeds, rapeseed, and soybean meal. Ukrainian producers are ready to increase supplies of these goods, which will positively impact the development of Polish livestock and strengthen economic partnership between the countries.
In 2024, Ukraine and the EU set a new record in agricultural trade, achieving mutual trade in agricultural products at nearly 17.0 billion USD.
The further development of the grain and oilseed market in Ukraine and the Black Sea region will be discussed at the 23rd International BLACK SEA GRAIN.KYIV Conference, which will take place on April 24 in Kyiv.
