Ukraine and South Korea: 15 Projects for Infrastructure Restoration

Representatives of the Ministry of Development of Ukraine met with a delegation from the Republic of Korea to discuss strategic areas of cooperation in restoring the country’s infrastructure after the devastating aggression by Russia. The Ministry is successfully collaborating with the Korean side in areas such as urban planning, reconstruction, and the development of railway and aviation infrastructure.

Currently, the Ministry of Development has about 15 ongoing and potential projects with Korea aimed at the comprehensive restoration of key infrastructure facilities.
Cooperation in Maritime and Energy Sectors
The parties paid special attention to issues related to supporting port infrastructure and developing the maritime sector, as well as the importance of restoring energy infrastructure with a focus on distributed energy. Among the discussed projects were also plans for water supply and wastewater management.
Innovative Solutions for Ukraine
The delegation from the Republic of Korea presented several projects that could aid in the recovery of Ukraine after the setbacks caused by the war. One of them involves the establishment of a Railway Traffic Management Center, which will include the latest signaling and automation systems to enhance the efficiency of railway transport. Another project concerns the development of transport infrastructure in the Kyiv region using modern technologies.
Additionally, the South Korean company LS Group is considering the possibility of building a modern tractor factory in Ukraine and implementing bioethanol production, which could be an important step in the development of the country’s agricultural sector.
