Ukraine is Approaching the Introduction of Industrial Visa-Free Travel with the EU

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has supported in the first reading a number of draft laws aimed at adapting Ukrainian legislation to European standards in the areas of market surveillance, accreditation of conformity assessment bodies, and technical regulation. In particular, draft law No. 12221 facilitates the harmonization of Ukrainian standards with European ones in these fields.

“It will help Ukrainian businesses integrate more easily into the European Union markets, promote trade and economic relations with European business partners,” the Ministry of Economy noted.
As for draft law No. 12426, it introduces the latest European safety standards for non-food products and protects consumer rights. This document creates better conditions for fair competition in the market.
“The new rules will help better control products, especially those sold online or imported from abroad. This will protect consumers from dangerous goods. Additionally, the changes will create fair conditions for businesses: honest entrepreneurs will receive support, while unfair competition will decrease. The new rules will help Ukrainian products more easily enter European markets. This is yet another important step towards signing the ACAA agreement,” the ministry emphasized.
