Ukraine’s Potential in Agro-Exports

The European Union Council emphasizes that Ukraine has already become one of the most important partners for the EU in the field of agricultural exports. In particular, due to the increase in food and feed supply volumes, Ukrainian products are increasingly displacing Russian ones from the European market.

Moreover, Ukraine has significant potential for further strengthening its position in the diversification of proteins, which is important for the development of the EU’s agro-industrial complex. As a result, the country could become an even more significant player in Europe’s food security market.

“The Council also exchanged views on recent developments in agricultural trade and trade agreements and negotiations at both bilateral and multilateral levels. Many ministers emphasized the need for appropriate protective measures focused on sensitive products,” the statement said.

The Importance of Cooperation and Simplifying Regulations

The EU Council stresses that ensuring food security in member states depends on simplifying regulations in the agricultural sector. At the same time, it is necessary to maintain and develop close cooperation with Ukraine, which will strengthen the position of the European agricultural sector and guarantee stable supplies of quality products.
