Ukraine Elected to the Council of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations

Ukraine has secured a seat on the Council of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) following the conference held on July 4 in Rome. This is an important step for the country on the international stage, highlighting its significant role in ensuring global food security.

Ukraine to Strengthen Participation in Global Food Security
Deputy Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha emphasized that Ukraine highly values the support of UN member states. He stressed that the Ukrainian state remains a reliable partner in matters of food security, despite the challenges posed by the war.
“We are grateful to all UN member states for recognizing Ukraine’s vital role as a guarantor of global food security. As a committed member of the council, Ukraine will be dedicated to enhancing the FAO’s response and will make every effort to promote global food security,” he wrote.
Humanitarian Initiatives and the Grain from Ukraine Program
Andrii Sybiha also noted that despite all the difficulties caused by the war, Ukraine continues to expand its humanitarian initiatives. Special attention is given to the Grain from Ukraine program, which aims to save lives by providing food to countries in greatest need.
