In Ukraine, the state support program for agricultural producers engaged in de-mining agricultural land has been expanded. From now on, the maximum area for which farmers can receive compensation for expenses has increased to 100 hectares. Previously, this limit was only 50 hectares, which restricted the participation of larger farms in the program.

Increased Funding and Participant Scope

Under the updated program, financial support can be received not only by small but also by medium and large agricultural enterprises. This decision contributes to greater efficiency in restoring agricultural lands, as these farms ensure the stability of the country’s food security.

The funding volume of the program has also been significantly increased – to 400 million hryvnias. As a result, the state will be able to cover the costs of de-mining over 10,000 hectares of territory, which will not only reduce the mine danger but also facilitate the return of land to agricultural production.

Social and Practical Impact on the Agricultural Sector

The updated program conditions have significant social importance. They emphasize the priority of safety for the entire agricultural sector and demonstrate the government’s readiness to invest in rural development. Farmers can now plan their activities for future seasons with more confidence, knowing about the support for de-mining issues.

“It is the farmers who know how acute the problem of mine danger is. Every new hectare cleared of deadly metal is a contribution to food security. It is also a guarantee of future harvests on restored lands.”

The compensation program operates within the initiative “Diia. Business Support,” which significantly simplifies the application process for farmers and minimizes bureaucratic obstacles. This approach allows farmers to quickly receive assistance for restoring agricultural activities in liberated or frontline areas.

Note: The de-mining cost reimbursement program aims to support agricultural producers operating on temporarily occupied and frontline lands, with the goal of returning them to active agricultural use.
