This was stated by the head of the All-Ukrainian Agricultural Council (VAR), Andriy Dyukon, during the congress of agricultural enterprise managers in Poland.
Partnership, Not Competition
Andriy Dyukon emphasized that Ukraine does not plan to compete with European farmers. “In the future, we will export no more than 20% of our products to the EU market. Therefore, our goal is partnership and mutual strengthening, not competition,” he noted.
Cooperation with Poland
The head of VAR also highlighted the effective cooperation between Ukraine and Poland in the dairy sector. He noted that a significant amount of Polish dairy products is available on the shelves of Ukrainian stores, which is a result of good communication among farmers.
Regarding the readiness of Ukrainian farmers for European standards, Dyukon stressed the importance of clearly defining the date of Ukraine’s accession to the EU and the foundations of the future Common Agricultural Policy. He emphasized the need for a transitional period for Ukrainian farmers, stating that a single regulation for all markets is impossible.
