“Agricultural exports remain the foundation of our trade and make up more than 50% of everything Ukraine sells abroad,” said Shmyhal.
He also noted that last year, exports of Ukrainian goods increased by 13%, and the positive growth trend continued in March of this year, when exports rose by 4.5% compared to the same month last year.
Shmyhal emphasized that in the context of global trade turbulence, the Ukrainian government plans to enhance support for national producers and exporters. He highlighted the “Made in Ukraine” program, which allocates a budget of 500 million UAH for compensation for the purchase of Ukrainian agricultural machinery. The state is ready to compensate farmers up to 25% of the cost of equipment manufactured in Ukraine, and over 6 billion UAH has been allocated from the budget this year to support the agricultural sector.
According to preliminary data, in March 2025, Ukraine exported goods worth over $3.6 billion, which is 4.5% higher than the figures from March of last year and 18% more than in February of this year.
Additionally, Taras Vysotsky, the First Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food, reported that Ukraine could achieve nearly 100% supply of the European Union with crops grown in Ukraine. He also emphasized that the Ukrainian agricultural sector is 60-70% export-oriented and at the same time export-dependent, which has a significant impact on global consumption.
The further development of the grain and oilseed market in Ukraine and the Black Sea region will be discussed at the 23rd International Conference, which will take place on April 24 in Kyiv.
