Agricultural Innovations and Digital Solutions Presented in Kyiv Region

The “Shyrokostup” farm in the Kyiv region hosted a presentation of modern agricultural innovations for this season. The event gathered specialists from the agricultural sector, scientists, and representatives from companies who showcased the results of implementing innovative products, technical tools, and digital solutions in the field of integrated plant protection.

Sustainable Development and Biodiversity Conservation

Attendees had the opportunity to learn about the development of a micro-reserve created to support and enrich biodiversity on the farm’s territory. Special attention was given to the collaboration between “Syngenta,” the specialists of the “Shyrokostup” farm, and leading scientists from relevant institutes, who are jointly implementing projects aimed at developing sustainable agriculture. One of the key areas of this collaboration is the restoration and preservation of soils, increasing crop yields and quality of agricultural products in accordance with the four sustainability priorities of the company.

Technological Solutions and Farm Experience

The owner of the “Shyrokostup” farm, Oleksandr Shyrokostup, shared his experience in overcoming the challenges of the 2024/25 season, discussed the transformation of the farm and agribusiness, and outlined development plans.

During the event, experts presented a range of technological solutions and practices, including:

• An integrated plant protection system as a comprehensive approach to sustainable agricultural production.
• Automated crop monitoring and forecasting of diseases and pests using modern tools (TrapView, Cropwise®, leaf disease weather indicator FWIFD, spore trap).
• Responsible use of plant protection products and disposal of residues, exemplified by the operation of an evaporator on the farm.
• A five-year program for maintaining soil fertility, characteristics of organic matter distribution, and the results of its implementation.
• Demonstration of the innovative Interra®Scan technology for detailed soil scanning, creating agrochemical maps, and providing recommendations for precise fertilizer application.
• Rational application of products using the XAG P100 Pro drone sprayer in partnership with DRONE.UA, one of the most productive in Europe and Ukraine.
• Monitoring the life of wild pollinators and entomophages on the farm, organizing a “fresh” conveyor of honey plants to enhance pollination efficiency.

The event served as an important platform for exchanging experiences and implementing effective agricultural technological solutions aimed at enhancing the sustainability and competitiveness of the Ukrainian agricultural sector.
