Free Training for Women in Solar Power Plant Installation in Ukraine

The Swedish non-profit organization Beredskapslyftet, in partnership with Reskilling Ukraine, has announced the start of registration for the course “Solar Power Plant Installer,” which will provide Ukrainian women with the opportunity to learn solar power plant installation for free.

“This course is designed for women without a specialized education who wish to master the construction of solar power plants. It includes theoretical training as well as practical sessions on real projects. Participants will learn to work with power tools, install solar panels, connect equipment, and adhere to safety protocols, enabling them to find employment after completing the training,” the Reskilling Ukraine press service stated.

“After completing the course, you will be able to work as part of a team that installs and sets up solar power plants at various sites,” the message reads.

Upon completion of the training, women will receive:

• a certificate as a “Solar Power Plant Installer” from “Proavtomatika”;
• a certificate of course completion from Reskilling Ukraine.

Course Structure

The course consists of three main parts:

1. Theoretical Part (5 days): fundamentals of energy and electrical engineering, principles of solar power plant operation, types of equipment, installation technologies, safety standards, and financial aspects of construction.
2. Practical Sessions (3 days): working with power tools, installing solar panels, setting up inverters, batteries, protection panels, and electrical connections.
3. On-Site Practice (5 days): performing installation work on active construction sites in mixed teams under the guidance of experienced specialists.

Requirements for Participants

This course will be a good choice for women if:

• you are 18 years old or older;
• you have the motivation to change careers;
• you are willing to work at heights, outdoors, even in adverse weather conditions, and lift weights up to 20 kg.
