Conditions for Biogas Development in Ukraine
According to the official, the state has currently created all the necessary foundational conditions for the active development of biogas production. In particular, the relevant legislation has already been approved, an official biogas registry has been implemented, and a system for guaranteeing the origin of this resource is in place. There are state support programs in Ukraine, including a law to stimulate investment projects with an investment amount starting from 12 million euros.
Digitalization of the Sector and the Role of the Agrarian Registry
The Minister noted that the State Agrarian Registry could be used for further digitalization of the biogas sector. Thanks to this platform, market participants will have the opportunity for effective interaction among themselves and automated transparent distribution of state support in the bioenergy sector.
“Biogas is an effective use of agricultural waste and by-products to create high value-added products. And, most importantly, it ensures energy independence. Therefore, the development of bioenergy is among the priorities of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy,” Koval added.
