Is Another Pension Increase for Ukrainians Planned for 2025
In March 2025, a scheduled pension indexation took place in Ukraine, which is traditionally conducted every year. However, many retirees are wondering if they should expect an additional increase in payments by the end of the current year.

Current Legislation and Possibilities for Re-indexation
Deputy Minister of Social Policy Daria Marchak explained that an additional pension indexation is not planned for this year. According to her, under current legislation, pension recalculations occur only once a year—in March—and there is no mechanism for another automatic increase.
“Our indexation is provided by law. The law states that pension recalculations are conducted annually in March,” Marchak stated.
Thus, pensions in Ukraine are reviewed in spring, and there are currently no additional grounds for increasing payments at any other time of the year.
Conditions for Introducing Additional Payments
Marchak also clarified that the possibility of implementing additional support measures directly depends on the financial condition of the Pension Fund. If its funding, particularly from insurance contributions, remains stable and sufficient, the government may consider the issue of an additional pension increase.
The official reminded that there are specific pension programs for certain categories of citizens that are funded from the state budget. However, she noted that the likelihood of funding an additional increase from the state budget this year is low.
