UZ Cargo Poland, together with the branch “Transport Service Center ‘Lisky'” of JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia,” organized the train movements, carried out the necessary technical agreements at the junction of different track gauges (1520/1435 mm), and transferred the train to the LHS line in Poland. All transportations were carried out according to the agreed schedule and met international standards for transit transportation.
International Corridor and Development Prospects
The successful launch of the container train confirmed the restoration of the transport corridor connecting the Black Sea region with the countries of the European Union. This opens new prospects for the development of transit transportation through Ukraine, strengthening its role as a key link between Turkey, Poland, and other EU countries.
Service Expansion and Future Plans
UZ Cargo Poland plans to further expand the rail route by implementing the transportation of semi-trailers on rail platforms as part of intermodal trains. The implementation of this service will provide road carriers with new logistical opportunities and will also contribute to an increase in the volume of transit cargo between Ukraine, Turkey, and European countries.
It was previously reported that the company Laude has launched intermodal connections with Turkey, utilizing transit through Ukraine.
