Agricultural Machinery in Russia: Farmers Face Record Price Increases
In the Russian Federation, there is a significant increase in the prices of agricultural machinery, which is already threatening the availability of new tractors and combines for most local farmers. This issue was recently discussed in the State Duma of Russia, but government representatives have yet to provide a clear response regarding a solution to the problem.

Prices for Equipment Are Rising, and the Government Is Not Responding
Deputy from the United Russia party, Yulia Ogloblina, reported that currently most agrarians are unable to purchase new agricultural machinery. She noted that officials have left appeals regarding the critical rise in prices without a specific response, despite the fact that it directly affects preparations for the upcoming harvesting campaign.
“It is no secret that a new tractor or combine is now a luxury that only a few can afford,” she stated.
Reasons for Price Increases and Consequences for Agrarians
The head of the Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia, in response to the remarks of deputies, stated that inspections found no evidence of economically unjustified price increases. According to him, throughout 2024-2025, the cost of machinery has risen in line with inflation, and the operations of manufacturers are on the brink of profitability.
At the same time, experts emphasize that the main factors driving price increases are not only inflation but also a shortage of imported components and a reduction in the supply of foreign machinery due to sanctions. In this situation, Russian farmers risk starting the new season with outdated equipment and facing additional difficulties during the harvest of 2026.
