Deutsche Saatveredelung AG (DSV) has summarized the financial year 2024/25, noting the stability of results despite challenging market conditions. The company’s executive committee remarked that the year was marked by both ups and downs, but DSV managed to exceed internal revenue forecasts, although overall profit remained under pressure due to the market situation.

Positive Dynamics in Key Segments

The winter rapeseed segment brought the company further successes: sales volumes in Ukraine and South America have increased again. At the same time, the grain segment also showed positive trends. In particular, the DSV brand maintained its leadership in the German market thanks to the winter barley variety JULIA.

As anticipated, the financial year 2024/25 proved to be challenging again, characterized by ups and downs. On one hand, we exceeded our own revenue expectations, but the difficult market situation impacted overall profit,” said Clive Krukkemaier, a member of DSV’s executive board responsible for controlling, finance, human resources, operations, supply chain management, and IT.

Investments and Strategic Development

Despite the challenges, DSV is actively investing in its own development. The total investment volume for the financial year 2024/25 amounted to 5.0 million euros. The funds were directed towards updating agricultural machinery, modernizing buildings, and developing technical infrastructure.

In the future, the company plans to build a new breeding station in Worthington (UK), which will contribute to enhancing the resilience of grain crops. Additionally, DSV will continue to expand the breeding station in Tüle, strengthening its position in rapeseed breeding.

DSV is a German leader in the breeding of rapeseed, grains, and forage and lawn grasses. Founded in 1923 as a seed producer for farmers, the company today has subsidiaries in various countries across Europe, as well as in South America and Canada. Since 2022, the DSV brand has remained a leader in the winter rapeseed segment in Ukraine.
