Strategic Expansion of Hesburger in Ukraine

The Hesburger chain began its operations in 1966 and by 2025 will encompass over 480 restaurants in nine countries worldwide. In Ukraine, the brand is already represented by seven establishments located in Kyiv and the Kyiv region.

In March 2025, Hesburger made a significant investment, allocating 7.3 million euros for the construction of a production and storage complex near Kyiv. The new facility specializes in producing patties and storing products, with a daily processing capacity of up to 6 tons of meat. This complex is expected to supply up to 50 restaurants in the chain. This initiative marked the first Finnish industrial investment in Ukraine since the onset of the full-scale invasion by Russia.

International Presence and Company Position

Before the onset of Russia’s large-scale aggression, Hesburger had 38 restaurants in the Russian Federation and four in Belarus. However, in April 2022, the company made the decision to completely close its restaurants in the Russian Federation.

“The Hesburger chain was founded in 1966, and by 2025 it will have over 480 restaurants in nine countries.”
