This is reported by AgroReview
The Turkish company Imas has signed two new agreements to construct flour mills for the Iraqi Mokhalad Group. These projects will increase wheat processing capacity in Iraq to 500,000 tons per year.
Construction of Three Mills and Their Capacities
By the end of 2024, Imas will complete the construction of the first mill for Mokhalad Group, with a capacity of 500 tons of wheat per day. Subsequently, in July 2025, a contract was signed for the construction of a second facility with the same capacity, and in August, a third mill was contracted. Each of the new mills will have the capability to process 500 tons of grain daily.
The launch of the facilities is planned for the end of 2026. As a result, all three mills will ensure the processing of approximately 500,000 tons of wheat annually, significantly enhancing the region’s food security.
Features of Production and Imas Technology
The first mill is located in the city of Tikrit (Iraq). It is equipped with two production lines, each capable of processing 250 tons per day, allowing for the production of both high-quality baking flour and all-purpose flour aimed at the domestic market. The production process is fully automated: from grain reception to flour packaging, everything occurs without human intervention.
