The industrial and construction group “Kovalska” is completing preparatory work for the opening of the first phase of the autoclaved aerated concrete plant in the Lviv region. Currently, commissioning work is underway at the facility; however, the production launch, which was planned for August, has been postponed until the end of 2025.

Reasons for the Delay in Plant Launch

The company notes that the shift in timelines is due to a shortage of qualified personnel, as well as delays from foreign contractors caused by the war. The new plant will replace an asset that the group lost in the southern part of the country.

The enterprise was initially planned to launch in August, but the timeline has been moved to the end of 2025. The reasons for the postponement are explained by the company as a shortage of necessary personnel and forced delays from foreign contractors due to the war.

Project Scale and Investments

Construction of the first phase of the plant began in 2023. The new plant in the village of Rozvadiv, located 40 km from Lviv, is set to become one of the largest producers of autoclaved aerated concrete in Ukraine. The plant’s capacity, after the completion of two phases, will exceed 1.2 million tons of product per year.

The enterprise will be part of the Western industrial hub of “Kovalska,” which unites enterprises engaged in the extraction and processing of raw materials, as well as the production of building materials within a single industrial space. The group’s investments in the creation of this hub in the Lviv region amount to €100 million.
