Lemtrans Plans to Build a Container Terminal in Fastiv

The company “Lemtrans”, one of the largest private operators of rail freight transportation in Ukraine, has announced plans to build a modern container terminal in Fastiv, located in the Kyiv region. This terminal will become an important logistics hub for the region and the entire country.

The opening of this new infrastructure is a strategically important step that will allow for the optimization of logistics chains, expand the export capabilities of Ukrainian producers, and facilitate the integration of local businesses into international markets.

“Lemtrans” remains an active investor in the transport sector even amid the war.

In 2024, the company invested ₴478 million in logistics and infrastructure projects, which is twice as much as in 2023. Of this amount, ₴441 million was directed towards the development of terminal and container business. Despite the challenges posed by the economic situation in the country, “Lemtrans” continues to implement new projects aimed at improving Ukraine’s logistics potential.

According to last year’s results, the main cargoes transported by the company included: coal – 10.9 million tons (compared to 13.5 million tons in 2023), iron ore raw materials – 2.3 million tons (compared to 0.4 million tons), and construction materials – 2.01 million tons (compared to 2.9 million tons).
