Losses and Recovery of the Farm
Before 2022, the farm cultivated 1,500 hectares of agricultural land, maintained 316 cows, and utilized a full set of agricultural machinery. However, during the hostilities, its territory, farm buildings, machinery, grain drying complex, and animals were damaged by the actions of the Russian military.
“I do not want to revisit the events of February-March 2022, but I will say that the territory of the farm, the farm buildings, machinery, grain drying complex, and animals were ravaged by Moscow’s inhuman forces.”
The total amount of damages reached 42 million hryvnias. Despite this, the owner and the team managed to fully restore the infrastructure and repair the machinery in the shortest possible time. After the demining of the fields in 2022, the enterprise resumed full operations.
Implementation of Energy-Saving Technologies
After the de-occupation, a pellet plant was built at the farm, which became the foundation for energy conservation and increased energy independence. The production of pellets uses waste from wood and agricultural products, significantly reducing energy costs.
The head of the farm, Hryhoriy Tkachenko, emphasized that the implementation of such technologies has enabled the enterprise to operate efficiently, independently of external factors, and to embark on a path of sustainable development even after experiencing losses. He noted:
“We are recovering with improvement. We built the pellet plant after the de-occupation, which allows us to save tremendously on energy resources. The basis for creating pellets is waste from wood and agricultural products. This will enable us to be an energy-efficient and energy-independent farm.”
