Ukrzaliznytsia Implements a Digital Platform for Freight Car Repairs
Starting May 1, 2026, an automated system for distributing repair work on freight cars will be launched in Ukraine, implemented by Ukrzaliznytsia. The main goal of this innovation is to reduce the impact of the human factor, shorten the downtime of cars, and increase the transparency of cooperation with rolling stock owners. The entire service cycle has now been fully transitioned to an online format.

Digitization of the Car Repair Process
The automated system includes three key stages. The first is the remote signing of annual contracts using a qualified electronic signature (QES). The second is the ability for the customer to independently choose the production unit that will carry out the repairs. The third is the automatic formation of a queue for servicing the equipment.
The final stage of the repair is fully digitized: all acts of completed work and financial documents are received by clients in their personal electronic cabinet. This ensures transparency, efficiency, and reduces the time spent on processing paper documents.
Advantages of the New Model for Clients
Thanks to the new service model, personal accounts for clients are automatically maintained. From now on, all necessary financial transactions can be performed online, including the extension of agreements without the need for paper documentation.
“The goal of this innovation is to minimize the impact of the human factor, reduce the downtime of equipment, and enhance the transparency of interaction with car owners. The service cycle has been completely transferred to the online space.”
Additionally, in April 2026, the railway transported 2 million 868.5 thousand tons of grain cargo, as announced during an online meeting of Ukrzaliznytsia representatives with participants in the agricultural market on April 30.
