Reviving the Gastronomic Traditions of Transcarpathia
Historically, spices were a rarity in the mountainous regions of Transcarpathia, and even a hundred years ago, pepper or paprika were hard to come by. Local residents, when making sausages, used herbs that grew in the area — particularly juniper, thyme, and wild garlic. These ingredients provided the meat products with a distinctive aroma and flavor that “Vuyko Eco” is now trying to revive.
A Veteran Business with Unique Recipes
The founders of the enterprise are veterans of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who were discharged in 2024 due to health reasons. All the meat delicacies from “Vuyko Eco” are made using family recipes passed down from parents and grandparents. These local recipes and culinary traditions make the company’s products unique in the Ukrainian market.
The main goal that the producers set for themselves is to introduce a wide audience to the taste traditions of their native Transcarpathia.
Through such initiatives, Uzhhorod producers aim not only to preserve but also to popularize authentic Transcarpathian flavors among modern consumers.
