Global Challenges
Despite the stability of leading pension systems, the global demographic situation poses serious challenges for pension programs. Decreasing birth rates, increasing life expectancy, as well as high healthcare costs and public debt are putting pressure on budgets.
Among other countries, the USA ranked 29th in the pension systems ranking, the United Kingdom 11th, Japan 36th, and China 31st. The lowest positions in the ranking are held by India, Argentina, and the Philippines, which are among the three countries with the least effective pension systems.
