Agrarians are supplied with fuel for the 2026 sowing campaign — Minister Sobolev

Ukrainian agrarians have sufficient fuel reserves for this year’s sowing campaign. According to Minister of Economy Oleksiy Sobolev, farmers currently have reserves of diesel fuel and gasoline for a period of three to six weeks. The minister is convinced that this volume is enough to complete the main fieldwork for the spring sowing of 2026.

In response to a question during the hour of questions to the government in the Verkhovna Rada, Oleksiy Sobolev noted that the Ministry of Economy is constantly monitoring the situation regarding fuel supply for agrarians. Recently, consultations were held with representatives of the fuel market, who confirmed the availability of stable reserves.

“We know that agrarians are supplied with both diesel and gasoline for the sowing. We have communicated with the market – there are reserves for 3 to 6 weeks, which is sufficient,” said Sobolev.

State Support through Cashback

To further stimulate agrarians, the government is introducing a cashback mechanism for purchasing fuel at gas stations. According to the minister, about 3 billion hryvnias are planned to be allocated for this program. The funds will be redistributed from existing budget programs of the Ministry of Economy, which will allow support for farmers during this critically important period of sowing work.

The minister emphasized that the funding amount for the cashback is currently estimated at approximately 3 billion hryvnias, and these funds are already accounted for within the ministry’s budget. Thus, significant risks for conducting the 2026 sowing campaign in Ukraine are not anticipated.
