Agricultural Production in Ukraine Decreased by 8.4% in the First Eight Months of 2025
The volume of agricultural production in Ukraine from January to August 2025 decreased by 8.4% compared to the same period last year. This data was released by the State Statistics Service.

Detailed Analysis of Production Decline
As of the end of the first eight months of 2025, the agricultural production index was 91.6% of the level from January to August 2024. The most significant decline was recorded in crop production, which fell by 9.7%. In livestock production, the decrease was 4.9%.
Agricultural enterprises showed worse dynamics than household farms: their production index was 90.4% of last year’s figure, while in private households it was 93.7%.
Regional Situation: Leaders and Laggards
In the Donetsk region, a significant decline is observed: the production volume there is only 53.6% of last year’s figure. A substantial decrease has also been recorded in the Kherson (72.2%), Dnipropetrovsk (78.5%), and Poltava regions (79.0%).
Despite the overall decline, some regions managed to increase agricultural production volumes. For instance, the Lviv region recorded a growth of 2%, the Ivano-Frankivsk region saw an increase of 0.6%, and the Chernihiv region experienced a rise of 0.5%.
