Ukrainian gardeners have effectively completed the apple sales season from local farms, leading to a significant rise in prices for these fruits. Producers who still have sufficient volumes of apples for sale have promptly raised their selling prices for their remaining stock.

Price Dynamics of Apples and Reasons for the Increase

Since the beginning of this week, the price of apples in the domestic market of Ukraine has risen by an average of 14%. As of May 2025, apples are being sold at a price of 32–40 UAH per kilogram (equivalent to $0.77–0.97 per kilogram).

Key market players note that the price increase is due to seasonal factors. Stocks of last year’s apple harvest are rapidly diminishing, and the arrival of fruits from the new season is not expected for at least a few weeks. The delay in the start of the early apple season is attributed to the cold and prolonged spring, which has affected the ripening rates of the fruits this year.

Comparison with Last Year and Market Prospects

Currently, the average selling prices for apples in Ukraine are already twice as high as the figures for the same period last year. Market experts predict further price increases until the new harvest apples appear on the market.
