Increase in Production Capacity
According to Taras Vysotsky, the number of biomethane enterprises in Ukraine continues to grow. This creates the conditions for a significant increase in the export potential of the industry. The gradual increase in supply volumes provides grounds to expect that in 2026, biomethane exports may rise by 15–20% compared to the previous year.
“We see that the number of production facilities is increasing, and by the end of this year, biomethane exports could potentially increase by 15–20%,” he said.
Conditions for Export to the EU Market
Vysotsky emphasized that currently, there are no tariff or quota restrictions for Ukrainian biomethane in the European Union market. The main requirement for supply is the completion of certification and confirmation of the product’s origin, particularly its production from waste. This opens up additional opportunities for Ukrainian producers to develop biomethane exports to EU countries.
