Brazil Significantly Increased Soybean Exports in December and Set a New Record
The pace of soybean exports from Brazil in December shows a substantial increase compared to the same period last year. According to the Brazilian Foreign Trade Secretariat (SECEX), from December 1 to 12 alone, the country exported 1.65 million tons of soybeans. Increase in Supply Affects Global Prices
The dynamic increase in soybean exports from Brazil indicates a trend towards increasing supply of this crop in the global market. This could lead to the formation of excess stocks, which, according to market laws, exerts pressure on prices and creates a bearish trend. An increase in soybean supply typically contributes to a decrease in its value on international exchanges.
Brazil is Displacing the U.S. from Soybean Export Leadership
Brazil is confidently boosting its export capacity, strengthening its position among the world’s leaders in soybean shipments. According to information from the National Supply Company (Conab) and the Ministry of Development, Industry, Trade and Services (MDIC), from January to November 2025, the country exported a record 104.79 million tons of soybeans worth a total of $42 billion.
“In the first eleven months of 2025, Brazil’s soybean export volume has already exceeded the total for all of 2021, which was 101.87 million tons.”
This growth allows Brazil to compete more actively with the U.S. in the global market and strengthen its position among leading soybean exporters.
