As of the end of March 2026, Brazil maintains its leading position in the soybean meal export market to European Union countries. At the same time, Brazil’s share of the total soybean meal imports to the EU increased from 49.8% to 50.5%.

Increase in Soy Production and Yield Rates

Brazil continues to actively expand its supplies of both soybeans and their processed products to the global market. According to the Foreign Agricultural Service of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (FAS USDA), in 2026, the soybean production volume in the country is expected to reach 184 million tons, which is 3.3% higher than the previous annual forecast of 178 million tons for the 2025/26 marketing year.

Expansion of Cultivated Areas and Increased Yields

The soybean cultivated area in Brazil is projected to increase to 50.5 million hectares in 2026-2027, which is 2.8% more compared to last year. Additionally, the yield is expected to be at 3.64 tons per hectare, which is 1% higher than in the previous season. This figure is also nearly 6% above the average yield recorded in previous years.
