In April 2026, an increase in carrot prices was recorded in Ukraine. According to market participants, this rise is due to high demand for quality root vegetables amid limited supply, as vegetable stocks in storage are quickly diminishing.

Demand for Carrots and Price Dynamics

Recently, wholesale companies and retail chains have intensified their purchases of carrots, allowing Ukrainian farmers to raise the selling prices of the remaining quality produce. Currently, carrots are being offered at 6–13 UAH/kg (equivalent to $0.14–0.30 per kilogram), which is approximately 20% higher than at the end of the previous week.

Price Dynamics of Carrots in Ukraine

Reasons for Price Increase and Market Situation

Experts emphasize that the positive price dynamics are linked to the seasonal depletion of quality carrot stocks. Many wholesalers are finding it increasingly difficult to procure the necessary volumes of quality root vegetables, which further drives prices up.

“It is worth noting that as of today, these root vegetables in Ukraine are still being sold at an average of 69% cheaper than during the same period last year.”

Thus, despite the current increase in prices, carrot prices remain significantly lower compared to last year’s figures.
