Current Results of Harvesting Main Grain Crops

  • Wheat: 22.78 million tons from an area of 5.04 million ha (98% of forecast), average yield — 4.51 t/ha.
  • Barley: 5.35 million tons from 1.35 million ha (98%), average yield — 3.97 t/ha.
  • Peas: 658 thousand tons from 271 thousand ha (97%), average yield — 2.43 t/ha.
  • Buckwheat: 82.4 thousand tons from 59 thousand ha (80%), average yield — 1.4 t/ha.
  • Millet: 60 thousand tons from 35.7 thousand ha (60%), average yield — 1.68 t/ha.
  • Corn: 4.9 million tons from 895 thousand ha (15%), average yield — 5.5 t/ha.

Status of Corn and Technical Crop Harvesting

The pace of corn harvesting in Ukraine remains slow compared to last year. This is due to the delayed maturation of the crop, as well as unfavorable weather conditions, including frequent rains and increased humidity. As a result, many farmers are forced to postpone harvesting or leave corn in the field for natural drying. However, the average yield of corn is gradually increasing and currently stands at about 5.5 t/ha, demonstrating good yield potential for 2025.

The corn harvest in Ukraine is progressing more slowly than usual due to delayed maturation and challenging weather conditions. Frequent rains and high humidity are causing many farmers to postpone the start of harvesting or leave corn in the field for natural drying.

Meanwhile, the harvesting of technical crops continues:

  • Rapeseed: 3.3 million tons from 1.25 million ha (101%), average yield — 2.6 t/ha.
  • Sunflower: harvested from 3.9 million ha (67%), 7.19 million tons threshed, average yield — 1.84 t/ha.
  • Soybeans: harvested from 1.34 million ha (56%), 3.08 million tons collected, average yield — 2.29 t/ha.
  • Sugar Beets: harvested from 90 thousand ha (35%), 4.7 million tons of roots collected with an average yield of 52.4 t/ha.

Overall, despite the delay in corn harvesting, this year’s yield shows positive dynamics in both quantitative and qualitative indicators.
