Corn Leads Ukraine’s Exports at the Beginning of 2025

In January-February 2025, corn became the most exported commodity from Ukraine. During this period, the country exported 4.7 million tons of this cereal crop, generating 982 million USD. Corn held a significant position in the export structure, accounting for 26.5% of the total agricultural production and 16% of Ukraine’s total exports.

Main Markets

There is strong demand for Ukrainian corn, especially from countries such as Spain, which received 933,000 tons, Italy – 725,000 tons, Turkey – 639,000 tons, Egypt – 593,000 tons, and the Netherlands – 514,000 tons.

Overall Grain Export Figures

As of March 17, 2025, Ukraine has exported 31.022 million tons of grains and legumes since the beginning of the 2024-2025 marketing year. In March of this year, 1.839 million tons were shipped. In comparison, during the same period last season, the total export volume was 32.851 million tons, including 3.181 million tons in March.

Additionally, in the first two months of 2025, grain ranked second in terms of railway transportation volumes, totaling 5.22 million tons, which corresponds to 37.7% of total railway exports.
